There are many classification methods for
industrial aluminum profiles, and the slot width can also be used as a classification basis. There are 4 types of slot widths for common industrial aluminum profiles: slot 4m, slot 6mm, slot 8rm and slot 12mm. So what is the role of the groove width of the aluminum profile?
1. Accessories selection basis.
The aluminum profile extrusion groove width is an important basis for selecting accessories. Different groove widths need to choose different accessories so that they can be installed. Like some accessories that need to be installed in the profile groove, such as bolts, nuts, built-in connectors, bevel connectors, groove connectors, flat seal grooves, etc., the main basis for the selection of these accessories is the profile groove width, otherwise cannot be installed. Therefore, the profile groove is very important for the selection of accessories.
2. Selection basis of sheet thickness.
In many cases, aluminum profiles need to be used in conjunction with sheets. If the plate is installed in the profile groove, the influence of the profile groove width on the thickness of the plate is relatively large. In principle, only 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm thickness of profiles with grooves of 4mm can be used, otherwise they cannot be installed. If the profile with a groove of 6mm is used to install the panel, the thickness of the sheet can only be selected to be 2mm; if the profile with a groove of 8mm is used to install the panel, the thickness of the sheet can be selected as 4mm. Therefore, the selection of profile groove width to sheet thickness is still relatively large.
3. Affect load-bearing.
Generally speaking, the larger the profile groove width, the larger the specification, the larger the force bearing area, and the better the load bearing capacity. Many times this method is used to judge the load-bearing range of the frame. For example, profiles with a groove of 6m have a load-bearing range of 100kg, profiles with a groove of 8mm have a load-bearing range of about 400kg, and profiles with a groove of 10mm have a load-bearing range of 800kg. Of course, this is only an estimated value, and the estimated value can be used for the initial selection design, but the specific aluminum profile to be used has to be calculated.
