Aluminum radiator profiles extrusion technology requirements for molds

The mold of aluminum radiator profiles has many elongated teeth that can withstand greater extrusion pressure. Each tooth has high strength and toughness. If there is a big difference in the performance of each other, it is easy to make some teeth with poor strength or toughness fracture. So the quality of the die steel must meet the requirements. The heat treatment of the die is also very important. The use of vacuum heating quenching, preferably high pressure pure nitrogen quenching, can ensure the uniform performance of each part of the die after quenching. Three tempering steps should be taken after quenching.
Aluminum radiator profiles can be successfully extruded, the key is the mold design to be reasonable, manufacturing to be accurate. Try to avoid direct extrusion of the ingot onto the die strip. For the flat and wide comb aluminum radiator profiles, a small diversion die with a smaller center and larger sides is designed to make the metal flow to both sides, reduce the extrusion pressure on the die belt and make the pressure distribution uniform. Due to the large wall thickness difference of the aluminum radiator profiles section, the mold work belt should be designed to keep their differences accordingly. That is, the working belt should be especially increased where the wall thickness is large, which can be as large as 20mm - 30mm, and the position of the tip of the teeth should break through the routine and reduce the working belt to a very small. Make sure the metal flows evenly everywhere. For the flat and wide radiator, in order to ensure that the mold has a certain stiffness, the thickness of the mold should be increased appropriately. Thickness increase about 30% ~ 60%. The production of the mold should also be very fine, the empty knife should be symmetrical up and down, around and in the middle, the processing error between the teeth is less than 0.05mm, the processing error is easy to produce bias, that is, the thickness of the heat sink is not uniform, and even the phenomenon of broken teeth.
For the design of more mature section, the Mosaic alloy steel die is also a better method, because the alloy steel die has better rigidity and wear resistance, is not easy to deformation, is conducive to the forming of aluminum radiator profiles.
