Aluminum alloy is widely used in
aluminum radiator profiles because of its beautiful, light weight, easy processing into complex shapes and good thermal conductivity. There are three main types of aluminum radiator profiles: comb, flat and wide and fishbone; Circular or elliptical circular outside radiator radiate; Dendritic shape. It is characterized by the short distance between the heat sink, the formation of a groove between the two adjacent heat sink, the depth to width ratio is very large; The wall thickness difference is large, the general heat sink is thin, and the bottom plate thickness of the root is large. Therefore, the mold design, production and manufacturing of aluminum radiator profiles are very difficult.
The products with smaller size and symmetrical shape are easier to produce. Most aluminum radiator profiles are flat and wide, with larger dimensions. Some are asymmetric, and the depth to width ratio between the radiator fin is very large, making it more difficult to produce. Several problems need to be noticed in order to successfully produce aluminum radiator profiles.
1. Reduce extrusion pressure. The extrusion pressure should be reduced as far as possible in order to prevent the broken teeth of the die, and the extrusion pressure is related to the length of the ingot, the state of the ingot, the deformation resistance of the alloy, the deformation degree and other factors. Therefore, the cast rod of aluminum radiator profiles ought to not be too senior, about 0.6-0.85 times the length of the regular cast rod. Especially in the mold test and extrusion of the first casting rod, in order to ensure the smooth production of qualified products, it is better to use a shorter casting rod, that is, the length of the normal casting rod (0.4-0.6) times to test the mold.
2. Extrusion process. The key to the production of aluminum radiator profiles is the first test of the extrusion mould. If possible, you can first do a simulation test on the computer to see whether the working belt of the mould design is reasonable, and then test the mould on the extrusion machine. The first test is very important. The operator should let the main plunger press forward at a low pressure below 8MPa. You can find someone to look after the exit of the mold with a flashlight light, and then gradually accelerate the extrusion after each heat sink of the extrusion mold is evenly squeezed. When continuing extrusion after successful mold test, attention should be paid to controlling extrusion speed to ensure smooth operation. When producing aluminum radiator profiles, advertence ought to be paid to the heating temperature of the mold so that the mold temperature is close to the ingot temperature. If the temperature difference is too large, because the extrusion speed is slow when pressing, the temperature of the metal will drop, and it is easy to produce the phenomenon of plugging or uneven flow rate.
