Tail shrinkage is a special waste product in extrusion process of industrial aluminum profiles. It is divided into hollow tail and ring tail. The hollow funnel-shaped tail is formed because there is oil on the extrusion gasket and the extrusion residual material is too little, resulting in a serious shortage of metal supply and other reasons. Ring tail shrinkage is mainly due to the extrusion process of industrial aluminum profiles at the end of the deformation area metal supply shortage, forcing the metal along the extrusion gasket around the transverse turbulence, the side and side surface is cold, stained with oil and metal reflux into the products caused by. Ring tail in general at the end of the section of the product, more continuous or discontinuous ring shape.
The main measures of how to prevent tail shrinkage in extrusion processing production of industrial aluminum profiles:
1. Reduce the temperature difference between aluminum ingot and tool temperature, or adopt low temperature extrusion.
2. Ensure the ingot appearance is clean and heated evenly.
3. Do not grease the extruding gasket or wipe the extruding gasket with an oil cloth.
4. Improve the surface finish of mold and extrusion cylinder, and clean extrusion cylinder timely.
5. Reduce the extrusion speed near the end of the extrusion process.
6. Use lubricating extrusion and reverse extrusion.
7. Leave the residual material and cut the tail as required, or increase the thickness of the residual material appropriately.
